Dr. Baum comes to us from the Midwest, specifically Peoria, Illinois where he was born and raised. After living overseas in Hong Kong for several years of his adolescence, Dr. Baum attended Wabash College on a Presidential scholarship. After graduating with high honors, he attended Indiana University School of Dentistry. Upon Completion of dental school in 1999, Dr. Baum was awarded an advanced training dental residency (AEGD) in the United States Navy Dental Corps– San Diego. While serving on active duty, Dr. Baum was assigned duty with the Fleet Marine Force–Camp Pendleton, where he served as a department head of operative dentistry/oral surgery. For his outstanding military service, Dr. Baum was awarded a Navy Commendation medal. After 5 years of practicing general dentistry, Dr. Baum returned to Indiana University to obtain his orthodontic specialty certificate and masters of science in dentistry in which he received a grant for his research. After completing his residency, Dr. Baum successfully obtained his board certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, California Dental Association, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Orange County Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
